Demonstration of Commercially Available High-Performance PAM Glider and Profiler Float

To evaluate the performance of two mobile passive-acoustic platforms: the Seaglider (Kongsberg) and the APEX float (Teledyne Webb Research).

Within the scope of the project we will evaluate the performance of two mobile passive-acoustic platforms: the Seaglider (Kongsberg) and the APEX float (Teledyne Webb Research). The marine mammal monitoring capabilities of these platforms will be compared to those of a bottom-moored recording package (HARP) at the Quinault Training Range (QUTR) in Washington State and in teh Catalina Basin, and to the M3R system using the cabled hydrophone system at the SCORE range off California.
